I love eating ice cream everyday too : AnimemesI ate ice cream for 60 days straight and this is what happened: When I moved to Denver just over 2 months ago I wanted to find a fun and easy summer job while continuing to grow my private practice. Someone told me that years ago they were able to enter a business and ask for a job. I laughed and thought to myself that it really doesn't happen anymore and started my search on the internet. I didn't find anything online. I thought I was a waiter, but I love sleeping. I spent an interesting ice cream shop exploring Washington Park and I felt inspired to stop at my best friend in the ice-cream KC scoops on the side and sounded very fun; what is not the love of working decently short hours, making a little quick cash and putting smiles on the faces of the villages with a sweet gift? Turns out the need for additional help to handle the store so I completed an app and got the job instantly. I started the next day.. When people find out I'm a dietitian working at an ice cream shop, they find it ironic. Me? I find it empowering and symbolic. I live by the phrase, "all the food fits." I am fully aware of the diet culture society in which we live where food like ice cream is demonized and we are thought to be *bad* to eat it. But really, food has no moral value and one of my favorite things is to help people feel neutral around food. Our bodies are amazing and can handle many things, including ice cream every day for 60 days. I didn't propose to think I should eat ice cream every day for 2 months, it just happened. I thought I'd get some ice cream working at the store. He tried samples between clients and would regularly get a spoon after work. I have a freezer with at least 5 pints of ice cream from the store. I had ice cream at least once a day for 60 days and this is what happened: I didn't get tired of ice cream. Ice Cream is MANDATE TO DESCAR my favorite dessert. I didn't get tired of ice cream, but my taste preference changed a little. I used to be just a chocolate girl; now I'm trying the weirdest flavors. Other days I stay with the classics (small mint chocolate chip and Oreo and cream here). The ice cream shop where I work has more than 100 flavors; I think I've probably tried ~80. Some days I would like to have a scoop, some days a couple of scoops, and occasionally some bites. I ate other foods. This may be DUH, but sometimes headlines like "this person ate this for x days and here's what happened" means that the person only ate such food (remember the one? Trigger Warning: Calories and Weight Stigmatizing Language. I ate a variety of foods and meals and quite normal snacks along with ice cream. My body did not change; and if I had done well I have also been an intuitive dining room for more than a few years, and it feels GLORIOUS. I couldn't imagine myself feeling restricted from food or feeling guilty about eating ice cream. I remember the days when I would spend so much brain space and time worrying about what would happen if I ate "X". My body didn't really change, or if it did, I didn't realize- what it should be like. As a society we put too much emphasis on the size of the body. Our bodies flow daily and during life; with proper feeding and self-care, they know what size they need to be. Honestly, it's been over 60 days since I had ice cream in a row. I can eat ice cream every day for the rest of my life and it will be fine with it because when you stop giving so much energy to food, ice cream becomes a delicious food that you can enjoy as often or as little as you want.
